I for Ironing Boards- A to Z Challenge

So you wash on Mondays and Iron on Tuesdays or that's how the Nursery Rhyme goes. I personally have a love/hate relationship with ironing. I loved the many hours spent under my grandmother's wooden ironing board. It made a great tent with a blanket over top, for reading, sewing, or sorting buttons and scraps. And you can guess about the hate part..

But now you can take the best part of that equation ( those great old solid wood tops) and make something memorable for your home. If you can find one that is.. as the newer metal versions came onto the scene the older less sturdy ones often went to the burn pile or the trash.

If you are lucky enough to have one in your barn or you find one here's a couple of ideas of how to use it.

Refurbished Ideas shows this shelving/hook idea to help your laundry day go a bit smoother

Shari Jamison shared this with Home Talk- I imagine ironing does make some people long for a good glass of wine!

Or just as a display.. If you're lucky enough to find one flaunt it like the Rusty Pig!

If you happen to run across one of these.. call me and I'll come and get it..lol. But if you decide that you can't love without it,let me know how you displayed yours. Wednesday is for mending but we're moving on and talking about other things that start with J on day 10 of the A to Z Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the other great blogs playing along this month!
